Abstract

Reading-while-Listening (RWL) can be used as an approach to increase students’ reading comprehension and has received positive responses from students for improving their reading ability. With the availability of many audiobooks, students are supported in practicing RWL more effectively. Therefore, this study was conducted to gather students’ perceptions of RWL using various audiobooks. It focused on students’ views regarding the availability and quality of audiobooks, the RWL activity itself, and the perceived improvement in their English skills after engaging in RWL. A quantitative survey design was used, and data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 86 EFL students from the 2023 cohort. The data collected were presented using bar charts and analyzed through percentages. The results indicated that students had positive perceptions of audiobook availability and audio quality, the RWL activity, and improvements in their English skills after participating in RWL.
