Introduction

Journal of Chinese Language and Culture Studies  (Joclas) is a scholarly publication dedicated to Chinese Language Education, Chinese Linguistics, Chinese Literature, and Culture studies. We welcome and publish original research papers, review articles, and case studies that focus on the following areas:

1. Chinese Language Education:

   - Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language

   - Strategies for Chinese Teaching

   - Teaching Materials

   - Language Acquisition

   - Learning Development Models

   - Chinese Learning Innovations

2. Chinese Linguistics:

   - Chinese Grammar

   - Tonal Variation in Chinese Dialects

   - Simplified vs. Traditional Chinese Characters

General Author Guidelines

1. The Manuscript should be written in English or Chinese have never been published or is not in the process of submission for publication to other media.
2. The Manuscript may take the form of Original Research Papers, case studies, or review articles.
3. The author should register as an author.
4. Authors are expected to adhere to ethical standards in research and publication. Plagiarism and data falsification are strictly prohibited. Authors should accurately cite sources, and present honest, unaltered data. If there are relevant sources of funding or conflicts of interest, these should also be disclosed.
5. The Manuscript will be  published in Journal of Chinese Language and Culture Studies (Joclas) after being reviewed by peer reviewers. Submitted manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure high-quality content. Authors may be required to respond to peer reviewers' suggestions and revisions.
6. Authors retain the copyright of their work published in Joclas.
7. Authors are expected to follow the appropriate reference writing guidelines, such as the APA, MLA, or the reference format specified by Joclas. Reference information should be accurate and relevant.
8. Ensure that the manuscript is submitted through the online submission system specified by Joclas. Manuscript submission guidelines should be carefully followed to ensure that your manuscript is processed correctly.
9. If there are changes in the author's contact information, such as email address or institutional affiliation, please promptly inform Joclas' editorial team.
10. Joclas supports open access to scholarly research. Please consider publishing your manuscript in an open access format if possible.
11. Make sure to use the official template provided by Joclas for manuscript formatting. This template should be carefully followed to facilitate the editing and publication process.

Article criteria

Editors will judge submissions on the following criteria:

• Aim/scope of the submission is clearly defined
• Scientifically relevant methodologies used and adequately described
• Novelty and scientific impact will also be considered
• Results of interest to a particular niche/broad community and have not been published previously
• Conclusions are supported by the presented data
• Submission is well written and logically constructed

• Manuscript has been 'spell checked' and 'grammar checked'
• All references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa
• Journal policies detailed in this guide have been reviewed
• Referee suggestions and contact details provided, based on journal requirements

Structure of the manuscripts

The main text should consist of at least IMRaD structure, except for the review article: Introduction, Literature Review, Discussion or Conclusion, and References. The manuscript should begin with title, abstract, and keyword(s) followed by the main text.

1. Title. The title should be short, bright, and informative, but does not exceed 15 words. It has to be pinpoint with the issues discussed. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviation. The main ideas should be written first and followed then by its explanations.
2. Author’s names and affiliations. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's affiliations, inaddress, and email addresses, without any academic titles and job title. Affiliation includes name of department/unit, (faculty), the name of university/institution, complete postal address, and country. All contributing author should be shown in contribution order. Corresponding Author clearly for handling all stages of pre-publication, refereeing, and post-publication. This responsibility includes answering any future queries about Methodology and Materials. Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.
3. Abstracts are written in Chinese and English. Abstract is made in one paragraph which consists of the background, objective, research methods, results, conclusions and keywords (3-5 phrases). Abstract should consist not exceed 250 words.
4. The introduction must contain (shortly and consecutively) a general background and a literature review (state of the art), the main research problems and research method. In the final part of the introduction, the purpose of the article writing should be stated.
5. Research Method.This section should provide sufficient details of the experiment, simulation, statistical test or analysis carried out to generate the results so that the method can be repeated by another researcher.
6. Result and Discussion. This part consists of the research results and how they are discussed. The results obtained from the research have to be supported by sufficient data.  The research results and the discovery must be the answers, or the research hypothesis stated previously in the introduction part. The following components should be covered in the discussion: How do your results relate to the original question or objectives outlined in the Introduction section (what/how)? Do you provide interpretation scientifically for each of your results or findings presented (why)? Are your results consistent with what other investigators have reported (what else)? Or are there any differences?
7. Conclusion should answer the objectives of the research and the research discoveries. The concluding remark should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions or abstract. You should also suggest future research and point out those that are underway.
8. The literature listed in the References contains only the sources referenced or included in the article. The Referenced are written in Romance font, Please use Reference Manager Applications like EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero.
